Who We Are
The Vancouver Falcons Athletics Club is a not-for-profit, member-led running club that was formed in 1987 to offer members weekly coached workouts in a supportive yet challenging training environment. Over 30 years later, the club continues to thrive and offers challenging weekly training sessions in a rewarding and friendly atmosphere.
With a full annual membership, VFAC members are able to attend as many weekly training sessions as they wish. Currently, coached group workouts are offered 2 times weekly and are led by coach Kevin O’Connor. In addition to these scheduled sessions, members often meet up informally to run on other days, particularly for Sunday long runs.
It’s not all work though! The club members often gather after workouts at various coffee and eating establishments to socialize. Club meetings are held approximately every four months to discuss club news, issues, and upcoming events. Meetings also include time for teammates to catch up with one another while enjoying delicious food and refreshments. There are numerous other social activities including the annual prize-giving dinner.
VFAC also hosts the Summerfast 10k Road Race, part of the BC Athletics Lower Mainland Road Race Series and a VFAC Summer Track Series.
