April Fool’s Half Marathon – 6 April 2014
- 8 of our 17 runners ran personal bests (Bryan Andrews, Kimberley Doerksen, Anthony Bourdel, Roberto Desandoli, Ellie Greenwood, Alex Grimbley, Lissa Zimmer, Brian Townsend)
- Kevin O’Connor raced like a champion to the line against David Jackson only missing the win by 3 seconds, yet still ran a M45 Canadian Record and Masters Race Record in 69:12 (record to be ratified).
- Kimberley skipped the 76 and 75 minute ranges to crush a 74:53 Win (capital W), PB, Race Record, and 3rd ranking for Canadian Women Half Marathoners in 2014! (1st and 2nd on the list are sub 2:30 marathon runners! – https://www.athletics.ca/pr2.asp)
- VFAC women had a clean sweep of the podium with Kimberley taking the win, Ellie getting 2nd, and Anne-Marie Madden 3rd
- In the men’s race, Kevin was 2nd, and Bryan was 3rd
- VFAC Men and Women had 6 of the top 10 in their respective gender races, and also had 11 of the top 20 overall! There was no doubt as to who won the teams competition
