The first race of 2013 was the 34th running of the
Prairie Inn Harriers Pioneer 8k, on Sunday January 13th. As part of the
Timex BC Road Race Series, it attracted a very strong field on an icily cold day in Saanichton, Vancouver Island. Drew Nicholson and Anne-Marie Madden represented the club, running 27:09 and 28:38 respectively, a 3 second PB for Anne-Marie who finished 4th overall woman. Aside from these performances, the talking point of the day was Natasha Fraser’s astonishing 25:28, a full two minutes faster than the fastest female 8k time in all of Canada in 2012!
