For the Record!

As most of you have likely long since heard by now, given my writer’s cramp, Katrina and Simon Driver had great races at the World Mountain Running Championships in Switzerland. Katrina led the Canadian team to an 11th place finish out of 20 national teams. She placed 23rd in the field of 87, finishing in 44:00, to the 39:11 of winner Anna Pichrtova of the Czech Republic. Simon was 101st out of 152 in 1:02:18, behind the 51:49 of winner Marco De Gasperi of Italy. Also, on the weekend, Katherine Moore and Matt Fedoruk competed well internationally….ok, in Bellingham. In the hilly Fairhaven Runners 15K, Katherine placed 4th female overall in 1:01:32 behind the 59:27 of Seattle’s Rose Wetzel. Shawn Miller of Juneau was 1st overall among the 571 finishers, while Matt placed 1st in the men’s 30-34 and 8th overall in 55:11.
