2013 Eastside 10k

2013 Vancouver Eastside 10k

VFAC were out in force on September 14th for the inaugural running of this Canadian Running Series 10 km road race. Despite muggy weather conditions and a rolling course, there were many excellent performances against a strong field, with Kevin O’Connor leading the charge for the men in 32:23 (5th overall, 1st master) and Kimberley Doerksen for the women (35:36; 4th overall, 1st F20-24). Following them were (deep breath): Nic Browne (33:40, 8th overall), Mark Bennett (33:59, 1st M50-54), Drew Nicholson (34:00, 2nd M25-29), Bryan Andrews (34:25 PB, 3rd M25-29), David Palermo (34:49), Aaron Weidman (34:49), Catherine Watkins (36:11, 5th overall, 2nd master), Dave Lewis (38:25 PB), Courtney Powell (38:51 PB, 10th overall), Shu Sanatani (39:01), Helen Ritchie (39:35, 1st F45-49), Pascal Gray (41:16), Jim Davies (43:29), Susan Gordon (43:34, 1st F50-54), Barry Young (44:42), Vicky Harris (44:46), Karyn Mitchell (45:14), and Sharon Emslie (52:24).

After the race, a number of us celebrated with an excellent brunch at local establishment Catch 122 – thanks to Nic for organizing!
